We recently had all the old windows in our home replaced by 1-800-USA-HOME. We have been very satisfied with the total experience and particularly with the product they used and the cost of our investment. 1-800-USA-HOME used a BTU meter to demonstrate the huge difference in energy usage we could expect with Triple-pane, but I really became a believer when we got our first full month’s bill from Questar gas after our windows were changed out.  Last year’s winter monthly bills ran around $200, our December bill this year was $49. My husband appreciated that the installer came on the initial sales call and answered all the technical questions he had about the actual process. The installers cleaned and polished all the windows and when I got home from work, I rearranged my living room furniture so as to not impede the view. Several years ago we had replacement siding and vinyl windows installed in our home. In the intervening years, we have been very disappointed in the both the quality and performance of the windows and the way they were installed. The improper installation made the windows hard to open and close (I had to use a hammer to get one closed and several we never opened because we were afraid we couldn’t close them) and allowed cold air to come in around the edges of the windows making the house uncomfortable in the winter and driving up our heating bills.  When we tried to contact the company that installed the windows, we couldn’t locate them as they apparently had gone out of business.

We recently contracted with 1-800-USA-HOME to replace these bad windows.  What a difference in product, installation and service.  1-800-USA-HOME provided us with triple pane windows with Low E and Argon, a highly energy efficient product, at the cost of double pane.  Tom, a certified Master Installer, carefully measured each and every opening to within 1/8” tolerance to make sure we wouldn’t have any cold air infiltration problems again.

During the actual installation, Tom found that the other company had installed the windows even worse than we suspected and then tried to cover up their mistakes by wrapping the outside of the windows with aluminum coil.  Fixing the other company’s mistakes took Tom and his helper an extra day of labor, which 1-800-USA-HOME did at no extra charge to us.

The first company didn’t pay their workers or suppliers and so we had a mechanic’s lien put on our house which took us almost a year and a lot of hassle to get removed.  1-800-USA-HOME provided us with documentation that all labor and material have been paid and they guaranteed that no liens will be attached to our property.

All in all, we are very pleased and satisfied with 1-800-USA-HOME Windows and would highly recommend them to anyone considering new windows or siding.
